Franchise Or Not I Know What I am Looking To Buy

I have taking further steps to purchase a carpet cleaning business. The business has what I am looking for. It is simply to understand the business and business concept. It a nutshell, you clean carpet. Your job is to hire good people, reduce operation cost and improve marketing
I will be meeting with a couple of the members of the company over the next couple of days to get a better idea of the business. Plus, I will be going over the P&L statements to make sure that the company is making money and has room to grown.
My one concern is the fact that the business is a franchise. I am not "wild" about working someone else's system or about having to buy equipment from the head company. I will look more into the pros and cons of being a franchisee.
If I choose not to be a franchisee and buy this business, I will continue to look for business's that "fall under the radar." I like simple businesses that are easy to understand...janitorial, carpet cleaning, window washing etc. Comments & Advice From Peter:Make sure you check out the franchisor of this business, once you buy into their system you are captive to their requirements. Make sure you know what you are buying into no matter what franchise you purchase.• Technorati • del.icio.us • Digg It • Furl • ma.gnolia • Spurl • Yahoo MyWeb
