The Small Business and Entrepreneur Council (SBE) recently created an agenda addressed to the 110th Congress about legislation affecting small businesses. The document was written by Karen Kerrigan, President & CEO and Raymond J. Keating, Chief Economist.
It begins with this quote: "The best policy environment for spurring entrepreneurship, investment, small business growth and job creation remains low taxes, a light regulatory touch, unimpeded access to capital and consumer markets, and real restraint regarding government spending. These broad objectives guide SBE Council's "Do's and Don'ts" for the 110th Congress."
It was a long list of "do's" and "don'ts" touched on issues that are familiar to small business owners. They had everything from health care reform to streamlining government regulation and fixing Sarbanes-Oxley act. Minimum wage, mandated sick leave, and expensive security requirements were also addressed.
